This week's assignment was to creat a website. It's still in the works, but I've got a few things up (the things due for class tomorrow - hehe). Feel free to check it out:

Reflecting
Wow, it takes a LOT to make a movie - even a short one! Kind of makes me wonder how there are so many mainstream movies out there. Actually, frustrations and problems aside, this was a fun (yet VERY lengthy) process. Now that I've done it once, I think I could do it again with a lot less difficulty. And I think this could be a super fun tool for older kids to have a great time with. For myself, going into early Elementary education, I could see using this as a tool to keep in contact with parents, absent students, or even perhaps a penpal-type relationship with another classroom somewhere in the world - instead of introducing meself, I could see doing an introduction to the class video. Also it might be fun to have a class at the end of a school year make an introduction video for the new class the next school year to watch. But I really like the idea I used here, to let new students get more aquainted with their new teacher and their new class, hopefully to allieviate some of those firstday jitters, and to let the parents know that what is going on from the very beginning.
All in all a very educational experience.

Introducing Me!
This past couple of weeks we've been working on making a video to introduce ourselves - that was pretty much all the guidelines that we were given. It was a frustrating struggle to get this video all the way through the editing process, but I learned a lot and I'm pleased with what I ended up with. I hope that you enjoy it, too!

Video Production for Teaching and Learning
This week we've been talking about and working on video production in my Technology in the Classroom class - very cool. We've had to take a look at a couple of tutorials on the subject. The first was about the actual production - what to do, tips from others, how to make your video look professional. It was a little lengthy, but very informative. The second was for the program we'll be using to do the editing and post-production work, iMovie.
Click here to listen to a few of my thoughts on these tutorials.
Can't wait to get my video together and share it all with you.
